Are you excited for the very first screening of Apocalypse Rock, as well an evening filled with other wonderful short films? I know we are!
Here is some important information you’ll need.
The screening will begin at 7:00 PM sharp! So please make sure you arrive with enough time to park, walk to the theatre, check-in to receive your ticket(s), and enter the theatre.
Theatre Information:
The AFI Silver Theatre is located at 8633 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20910. When you arrive, DO NOT go to the box office. We will have a check-in table where you will give us the name (or email address) you reserved the tickets under and receive your ticket(s). After that you can buy popcorn, snacks, beer and wine, mingle a bit or head into the theatre to pick your seats. Check-in will open at 6:30 PM (or a bit earlier). Please try to get your tickets by 6:50 PM so that you don’t miss a single minute!
Please let me know if you have any special needs such as needing a wheelchair accessible seat and we will reserve that for you.
Parking:
We highly recommend parking in the Wayne Ave. Garage. It is free after 6pm, even if you enter before that time. Here is a map of where it is located and how to walk to the theatre from there.
8-Pack Purchasers:
If you purchased an 8-pack of tickets, we will have a reserved spot for your group to sit together. When you arrive at the check-in table, you can either pick up all 8 tickets at once, or we can check off each person in your party as they arrive. They will just need to know what name the tickets are reserved under, which you should have received in a previous email. After the Screening:
Get a chance to mingle with the filmmakers from Apocalypse Rock and many of the short films being shown that night. Consider this the after-the-screening Q&A session. Location is in the works, but we’ll have all the details at the screening if not before.
Before the Screening:
Grab some dinner around the Silver Spring area. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Check out all that you can do downtown here: https://www.silverspringdowntown.com/ Just check to make sure the restaurant you want is open. There was recently a fire which shut down a few of the restaurants, including my favorite, The Quarry House Tavern.
